Making excuses for FBI misconduct against the Trump campaign

NY Times:
F.B.I. Used Informant to Investigate Russia Ties to Campaign, Not to Spy, as Trump Claims

The informant made contact in the summer of 2016 with Trump campaign advisers who were already under scrutiny for ties to Russia.
I am sure this story would be written differently if the spy was placed in the NY Times newsroom.  You also have to look at the context of the stories the media has pushed suggesting that the Trump campaign was "colluding" with the Russians.

Now that it is evident that no collusion took place, they are trying to put an innocent face on the spying and the entrapment of some of the people in the campaign such as George Papadopalous.  It was only the beginning of a witch hunt against a candidate that many in the deep state despised.

Those responsible for this spying should get the same treatment as the Watergate burglars.  I think one of the reasons the media is defending this abuse is that they were co-conspirators in the coup attempt for which the spy was working.
