Doctors abuse of young women Olympians was a betrayal of the them, their parents and the Olympic committee

NY Times:

Women Recount Sexual Abuse by Gymnasts’ Doctor

The Olympic gymnasts Jordyn Wieber and Aly Raisman are among dozens of women speaking in a Michigan court this week about sexual abuse from the former team doctor, Larry Nassar.
The women got a chance to tell their stories at the trial, but the effects of his abuse went beyond the obvious victims.  Parents who entrusted their children to his care and training also must be devastated, and if I were on the Olympic Committee I would be appalled at what was allowed to happen.  They need a mechanism to let their athletes blow the whistle on these abuses and if they tried to cover it up with hush money they should be removed from the committee.
