Obama's counter intuitive argument about Crimea

Russia 'acting out of weakness' - US
Really?  This sounds more like a faculty lounge pseudo intellectual argument than someone dealing with reality.   Now it is possible that Putin feared what the new government of Ukraine might do with the Russian bases, but he was clearly strong enough to deal with that without having to take over Crimea.  No this was not an action of weakness, but one where he was showing the world that he had the capacity to take what he wanted.
