Republican Senate politics has changed

John Dickerson:
The GOP’s New Paths to PowerWhy the Republican Party’s old bulls in the Senate are desperate to get the support of the party’s young bucks.
It is a long piece that talks about why senior Republicans are eager to have the support of Rand Paul and Ted Cruz.  Cruz is vice chairmen on the committee seeking to elect Senate Republicans.  There is little doubt that he will support the nominees of the party and that Cornyn and McConnell will be in that group.

But because of the Tea Party there is an interesting dynamic in the GOP that is pulling the senior senators closer to the conservatives.
