Dems retreat from reality in war on terror

AP/MSNBC:

Congressional Democrats promise to “eliminate” Osama bin Laden and ensure a “responsible redeployment of U.S. forces” from Iraq in 2006 in an election-year national security policy statement.

In the position paper to be announced Wednesday, Democrats say they will double the number of special forces and add more spies, which they suggest will increase the chances of finding al-Qaida’s elusive leader. They do not set a deadline for when all of the 132,000 American troops now in Iraq should be withdrawn.

“We’re uniting behind a national security agenda that is tough and smart and will provide the real security George Bush has promised but failed to deliver,” Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said in remarks prepared for delivery Wednesday.

It does not sound tough or smart. There is also the credibility issue, since Democrat Bill Clinton let Osama go, because of the same legalisms that the Dems have been throwing up as road blocks to President Bush's efforts to bring the terrorist to justice. In fact the Dems are more interested in terrorist rights than in bringing them to justice.

Update: Gateway Pundit asks questions about the Democrats committment to the task. A part of the Democrat plan is an attack on the English language where in they attempt to redefine the word retreat into redeployment.

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. Bin Laden's concern about Zarqawi's remains
