Dems sit on their hands until offering grudging support for troops

Watching the President's State of the Union address opened with somber Democrats offering little support for teh President's words unthil he acknowleges the troops and you could see the Democrats finally slowly take their feat and pat their hands. However the moment built as Bush read the words of a Marine Staff Sargeant who was killed in Fallujah. With the introduction of his family there was finally some enthusiastic applause.

Later there was enthusiastic applause when the President said that Hamas was going to have to recognize Israel and disarm. That should be a start warning to the religious biggots of Palestine.

The Democrats did sit on their hands again when the President asked for reauthoriziation of the Patriot Act. They again sat on their hands when the President discussed the surveillance of enemy communications with agents in the US.

More Dem hand sitting when the President called for making the tax cuts permanent.

John McCain seemed to be the only person excited about the President's criticism of the congressional ear marks pork spending.

A rousing close to a good speech.

    watch the State of the Union as well. Definitely a great speech. I fully support the Patriot Act and communication polity...much rather that than another 9/11!

29 % of companies say they are unlikely to keep insurance after Obamacare

Conn Carroll: A new survey of 368 midsize to large companies found that 29% of them are considering terminating their active employee health care plans when Obamacare is full implemented in 2014. Only 71% of employers surveyed said they did not expect to drop their health coverage, while 20% said they did not know and 9% said they were planning to exit. The latest survey, conducted by Towers Watson, echoes an ealier survey by McKinsey & Co. finding that 30% of private-sector employers were planning to drop their employee health insurance coverage by 2014. When the Congressional Budget Office crunched Obamacare's spending numbers, they estimated that only 7% of employees currently covered by employer-sponsored plans would lose their plans. ... Bin Laden's concern about Zarqawi's remains
